In a phrase, Salty Thomason is best described as a businessman who loves to grow business. He is a lifelong learner, culture change leader, and community leader. A graduate of The University of Texas in Austin with a BBA, he has served in leadership roles his entire career. Most recently, he served as CEO and principal owner of Pella Windows and Doors of Houston, increasing customer satisfaction, employee engagement and doubling revenue over eight years. In 2013 he was also named Small Business of the Year Award Finalist, an honor bestowed by the LSC Small Business Development Center.

As a lifelong learner, he has added to his knowledge base through certifications such as Certified Professional Manufacturer’s Representative (CPMR) and Certified Graduate Associate (CGA) from the National Association of Home Builders.

As a community leader, he has served in numerous board roles. Currently, he is a Board member of HomeAid Houston, a 501(c)(3) charity sponsored by the GHBA and a Board member of Texas Repertory Theatre. He has served on the Pella Corporation National Distributor Advisory Board and was Greater Houston Builder’s Association Remodelers Council Associate of the Year.

A voracious reader and a dedicated member/supporter of his Vistage International group, Salty continues to identify new and better strategies for building and maintaining cohesive, functional, and productive leadership teams.

Salty has lived and worked in the greater Houston area for most of his life. He has been married for over 38 years to wife Barbara who serves as the president and CEO of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce. Salty and Barbara have two grown children. Jillian is a licensed professional counselor in private practice in Houston and is married to Josh Winters. Son Tyler is a petroleum engineer for EOG Resources. He and his wife, Michelle have a son, Camden and reside in San Antonio, Texas.
