Silver Fox Advisor's History Corner
Since The Silver Fox Advisor organization is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year, and over the course of the next twelve months we would like to share with our Monthly Newsletter readers some of history of the organization. Each month we will feature a brief write—up on some of the more historical highpoints of the past 40 years in this “Silver Fox Advisors’ History Corner”. We hope you fine this information of interest, and you will probably know or have heard of some of the individual Silver Fox Advisors who made the organization what it is today.
The Silver Fox Advisors, Inc. organization was created on Monday July 28, 1986 under the laws of the State of Texas.
The first Silver Fox Advisors Officers were:
- Hank Wheeler, President
- Mark J. Nielsen, Vice-President
- Charles White, Treasurer
- Joseph A. Bond, Secretary
- Bill Pegler, Assistant Secretary
The original Board of Directors included:

The directors for this 2026 40th Anniversary Celebration year are:
Joseph Tung - Chairman, Gary Henderson - President, Jim Griffing – Secretary, and David Neuberger – Treasurer. Other members of the Board of Directors include: Don Baird, Herb Kalman, Richard Hendee, Orlando Cardenas, and Dennis Klimmek.
The first annual meeting of the Silver Fox Advisors, Inc. was held on Thursday, Oct. 16, 1986, at the River Oaks Country Club.
Today’s Silver Fox Advisory Business and Board Meetings are held at the Lakeside County Club.
In these early years, the organization issued and sold shares of stock to its members to fund the business activities and the operation of the Silver Fox Advisors. Today, the organization’s funding comes from quarterly membership assessments, new member initiation fees as well as sponsorships.

Over the last four decades, our organization has grown into a trusted community of advisors, each dedicated to strengthening the fabric of local business. From one-on-one mentoring and CEO Roundtables to educational programs and community partnerships, the Silver Fox Advisors have made a meaningful difference in the lives of thousands of business owners.
